This Premium MDF/HDF is a high-density fiberboard product of choice when looking for optimal quality, consistency in the most demanding of applications. This premium product has a slick white side with a sight texture, the other side light colored and ideal for stability as well as providing a stable core and superior surface. This material has a smooth finish to it and is perfect for sublimination.

Our B/BB Baltic Birch is 2-sided plywood with veneer core. You are guaranteed that each piece will be clear on one side and the other side may contain 1-2 plugs (commonly called "footballs"). When the plywood is manufactured, the location of a tree branch will form a knot-like spot in the wood that is prone to falling out. Rather than leaving a hole in the plywood, the manufacturer places a small plug in its place. The plug is constructed of Baltic Birch and is matched as closely as possible to the rest of the board. Some plugs are almost unnoticeable. If you paint your pieces or glue them to another surface, these plugs are not a problem.

Why Baltic Birch vs Domestic Birch?
• Baltic Birch’s core is unlike domestic plywood. The layers of inner plies are solid birch veneer, cross-banded, and laminated with strong adhesive.
• It has a void-free core.
• It is one of the few types of wood that can come in large enough sheets and yet be consistently dense through its thickness to be cut with a laser. Anything from parts for architectural models to artwork to schmaltzy engraved knick-knacks.
• Our shop is 100% temperature controlled this keeps the material in optimum condition, however there is a downside to the thickness of 1/8″ and 1/4″ thick Baltic birch does not always stay perfectly flat. It does cup or warp. It is not because it is bad plywood but just an effect of the size. It is thin and wide. Not a good combo for getting wood to lay flat. We wrap our Baltic Birch in plastic after we cut it to keep it flat. So, what do you do if it is not flat when you get it? Use weights or strong magnets to keep it flat to use in your laser cutter.
• The Baltic Birch we offer is B/BB grade with interior glue adhesive. What is important about interior glue? The interior glue adhesive is easier to cut through with your laser, and results in less char around the cut edges.

Note – Safety First - When cutting with the white side down, it does slight flare up, please do not leave your machine unattended when cutting any material.
